Firemen to host turkey beano Nov. 17

WALDOBORO — The Waldoboro Firemen's Association hosts its annual Thanksgiving turkey beano Thursday evening, Nov. 17, starting at 5 p.m. at the VFW on Mill Street. Beano will begin at 6 p.m. Single winners will be given a frozen turkey as their prize for each game.

Doorprizes will be awarded throughout the evening, and concessions will be available for purchase. From now until the beano begins, raffle tickets are on sale to purchase a chance for a complete Thanksgiving Dinner Basket. Tickets are available from any Waldoboro firefighter and at the VFW the night of the Beano. It is not necessary to be present to win the dinner basket raffle.

Library to launch CommuniTea event Nov. 18

THOMASTON — The Thomaston Public Library, 60 Main St., will host its first CommuniTea Nov. 18 from 3 to 4 p.m. The public is invited to enjoy tea, scones and other goodies and browse the library's collection. Nonperishable donations to the Area Interfaith Outreach Food Pantry are also welcome. CommuniTEAs will be held the third Friday of each month. For more information, call 354-2453.

Interfaith Thanksgiving service set for Nov. 20

THOMASTON — The faith communities of the Midcoast are sponsoring a community celebration of Thanksgiving, to be held this year Sunday, Nov. 20, at 4 p.m. at Thomaston Baptist Church, 212 Main St. All are welcome and all are invited. Those attending are invited to bring contributions of nonperishable food for local pantries.
