According to a city press release, Crooker Construction, in conjunction with Rockland Public Services, will begin the next phase of the Old County Road resurfacing project Monday, Nov. 14, starting at 6 a.m..

Public Services Director David St. Laurent advises members of the public to seek alternative routes of travel and avoid the section of Old County Road between Route 17 in Rockland and Route 1 in Rockport. This portion of the project will begin at the Route 17 intersection where the first phase of the Old County Road Project ended, and will continue northerly approximately 2,000 feet, ending at the Lake View Terrace Urban Compact Line.

The project will consist of the installation of two storm water culverts, ditching and shouldering, grinding, reclaiming roadway pavement and gravel to 12 inches in depth. This section of road, when complete, will be paved to a width of 24 feet, with 4 inches of new pavement. The project is scheduled to end Friday, Nov. 18, weather permitting.
