River Arts invites artists throughout Maine to submit artwork for jurying in its upcoming exhibition, “Small Works.” Artists can submit up to three works in any medium including sculpture, photography, collage, painting, ceramics and fine craft — representational or abstract.

Work can be delivered anytime during gallery hours until the deadline, 4 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 12. There will be an opening reception Friday, Nov. 18, from 5 to 7 p.m.

Juror for “Small Works ” is Robyn Holman, curator of the highly esteemed Atrium Gallery at University of Southern Maine’s Lewiston-Auburn campus. Holman directs a creative and varied series of year-round exhibitions featuring works by Maine artists.

Artists may submit up to three works for an entry fee of $20, $15 for members. Artists will be notified by email or phone of the juror’s decision. Submissions may not have been shown at River Arts previously.

Entry forms are available online at riverartsme.org and at the gallery when submitting. All work entered must be for sale and should be smaller than 20 inches.  Miniatures also are encouraged.

Queries and requests may be directed to 563-1507 or info@riverartsme.org. River Arts is open Tuesdays through Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.; and Sundays from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. River Arts, located at 241 Route 1, holds 10 themed, open, juried exhibitions per year, juried by some of Maine’s most prominent art community members.
