The membership of Spruce Head Community Church voted unanimously Oct. 9 to call Christopher J. Emery to serve as pastor.

Pastor Chris came to faith at the age of 17 through the ministry of John Boyd, then pastor at Hollis Center Baptist Church. Chris then went on to attend New Brunswick Bible Institute for three years and has served in a variety of ministries over the last 40 years. He has worked in summer camps, led youth ministries, represented Word of Life, Canada, and pastored churches in Maine, Nova Scotia and New Brunswick.

A Maine native, Chris grew up in Buxton. His wife, Sandi, comes from Fredericton, New Brunswick. They have three adult sons, who, with their wives and children, live in Florida and Ontario, Canada.

There will be an installation service at Spruce Head Community Church Sunday evening, Nov. 13, at 5 p.m. Trent Boyd, pastor of West Buxton Baptist Church, will be the speaker. The service will be followed by a fellowship supper. The public is invited to attend.
