The Owls Head Garden Club will meet Wednesday, Nov. 2, at 10 a.m. at the Community Building on Ash Point Drive. Kathy Murray, Ph.D., will give a talk on "Bee-friendly Gardening Without Pesticides."

Learn how to head off common pest problems, recognize new invaders and keep gardens healthy and bee-friendly. This program will focus on creating pollinator-friendly gardens, attracting natural enemies, and keeping pests out.

Murray is an entomologist with the Maine Department of Agriculture, Conservation and Forestry, where she provides training and pest problem-solving for Maine communities, farms and gardens. She and her husband enjoy growing vegetables, fruit and perennial gardens in rural Maine.

The program is free to the public.
