“The Peter Paton Comedy & Variety Show” returns Saturday, Oct. 22, at 7:30 p.m. at the  Rockport Opera House, 6 Central St.

Doors will open at 7 p.m. for an evening of comedy and commentary by the former Unity farmer who has become Maine Media Workshops' most requested film actor and model.

Paton takes pride in being a moving target. A resident of rural Maine since Eisenhower's first term, he has seen and heard a lot. Paton works at the Belfast Hannaford; and has done background work and small speaking roles in more than 15 feature films, including “The Heat.”

As always, Paton, who also has appeared in dozens of stage productions, will be joined by a cavalcade of local performers. On board this time around will be The Cool Kids' Table, improv with Marika Shyduroff, Ginger Lane, Leslie Stein, Charlie Crane and Heather Ellsworth; Hudson, N.Y., musician Kayln Rock, playing acoustic and rock; and Rockland’s Blind Albert, performing rock and blues.

Tickets are $20, available through brownpapertickets.com.
