North East Mobile Health Services will be holding its first 5K run/walk to benefit k9s on the front line Friday, Nov. 11, at 1 p.m. This event, co-sponsored by Atlantic Partners EMS, will raise money for the training of service dogs for veterans coping with PTSD.

The race will start and finish at the Samoset Resort in Rockport. Registration starts at 1 p.m. and the race will begin at 1:30 p.m., rain or shine. The tax-deductible registration fee is $25 for all participants. All race participants and supporters are invited back to the Samoset for a happy hour and award ceremony. The first 50 people to register receive an exclusive race T-shirt. All participants receive a goodie bag. All fitness levels welcome.

This event is designed for the whole family to enjoy. K9s on The Front Line is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization based in Portland. It pairs shelter dogs and veterans with canine trainers to create a bonded team. The service dog is provided at no cost to the veteran.
