A three-day weekend bronze-casting workshop will be taught at The Apprenticeshop, 655 Main St., Friday through Sunday, Oct. 21 to 23, from 9 a.m. to 4 pm.

Doug Borkman, who is an expert in metallurgy, will teach the basics of bronze-casting: pattern making, sand casting, pouring bronze, polishing and finishing. The workshop is a hands-on exploration of basic soldering and brazing for small, custom hardware and will provide students with a comprehensive background in casting. Workshop cost of $425 includes the $50 materials fee. Class size is limited.
