The St. George River Café, 310 Main St. in the village, will host its monthly open mic and concert Friday, Oct. 14. Featured performer will be jazz trumpeter Mel Tukey of Portland and friends in a jazz combo.

The open mic invites all acoustic musicians to play in the open mic; sign-up begins promptly at 6:30 p.m. Tukey and his group will begin around 8:30 p.m.

Tukey has played professionally since 1948 and has played with groups such as the Bellamy Jazz Band and many more, playing Dixieland, New Orleans, Chicago jazz and swing.

The Café serves delicious food and drinks. There is a $6 cover at the door. There are no reservations, so come early to get a seat. The St. George River Café serves delicious food and drink.
