For a second year, Rheal Day Spa, 453 Main St., will collect purses filled with feminine hygiene and grooming products for distribution to homeless or at-risk women and girls.

From Oct. 17 to Oct. 29, the spa will accept gently used purses, backpacks, canvas bags, or makeup bags fille with tampons or pads, combs and/or brushes, perhaps a compact, moist towlettes or other items women in need might appreciate and find comforting.

Last year, more than 190 purses were collected and given to New Hope for Women, Hospitality House and AIO Food Panty, which distributed them to their clients.

For guidelines or additional information, email Sharon Hobson at or phone Rheal Day Spa at 594-5077.

Alternatively, people may wish to contribute tampons, pads or financial donations to the year-round work of ensuring women and teens have the feminine hygiene products they need. These donations are always welcome at Rheal Day Spa.
