Maine Media Gallery’s second annual “Young Artist Showcase” runs through Nov. 5. The public is invited to a reception Friday, Oct. 14, from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. at the gallery, 18 Central St. in the village.

The exhibition features selected work by students (age 14 to 18) who have participated in the Young Artist Program at Maine Media Workshops + College. This program offers students the opportunity to delve into photography through an intensive, creative experience, learning from world-renowned photographers and developing their own artistic voices. Submissions include both analog and digital work, with subjects ranging from portraits to landscapes to still life imagery.

The 2016 Young Artist Showcase features work by Armaan Ahmed, Walker Bankson, Lizzie Bee Susannah Benn, Anna Callahan, Arianna Coan-Prichard, Evy Dibble, Natalie Elliott, Katie Han, Hannah Latham, Jack Lawrence, Ben Lefkowitz, Kelcey Logan, Zoe Morris, Emma Schaale, Adriel Soloway, Katie Sprague, Skye Stone, Sam Brill Weil, Philip Wright and JoJo Zeitlin.

Maine Media Gallery hours are Thursdays and Fridays from 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.; Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.; and by appointment. The gallery also offers an outstanding collection of donated faculty work for sale, with proceeds benefitting Maine Media’s scholarship fund; and it houses Tim Whelan’s bookstore, a nationally recognized bookstore for its impressive collection of fine art photography books.
