OUT Maine recently launched its new headquarters at 63 Park St. OUT provides safe space for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and questioning and allied youth.

OUT Maine now hosts a weekly after school activity program Wednesdays from 3 to 5 p.m. for LGBTQ and allied youth aged 12 to 17 at its new offices. A monthly meeting for youth aged 17 to 22 takes place the last Wednesday of each month from 5 to 7 p.m. Check the website at outmaine.org for updates on activities.

OUT Maine supports, educates and empowers LGBTQ youth and their families throughout rural Maine. OUT Maine provides community safe spaces; changes school climate through education and the building of Gay/Straight/Trans Alliances (school clubs); builds a strong provider safety net by training health and mental health providers, school staff, clergy and other youth service organizations; and supports parents and families of these at-risk youth to reduce homelessness.
