Anna Young has joined the Trekkers team as the organization's 2016-17 AmeriCorps VISTA volunteer. AmeriCorps is a program of the Corporation for National and Community Service and Young's placement was made possible through the Goodwill VISTA Partnership.

Young has considered South Burlington, Vt., her home since she was 4 years old. She graduated from St. Lawrence University in May 2015 with a bachelor's degree in biology, and moved to Camden in September of 2015. She just completed a year as a medical assistant and Mohs technician in dermatology, working toward hours for physician assistant school. At the end of July 2016, she decided that medicine was not the path for her and joined AmeriCorps.

Having worked as a counselor at the King Street Center in Burlington, Vt., and as a tennis professional for youth over the past eight years, Young comes to Trekkers with a strong interest in the organization’s work. As an AmeriCorps VISTA, she will be responsible for increasing volunteer recruitment and helping the organization build capacity for continued expansion.
