Photographer Leon Vanella will take people into his world of photographing nature via a talk Wednesday, Oct. 5, at 6:30 p.m. at the Maine Coastal Islands NWR Visitor Center, 9 Water St.

In this Second Sight talk, Vanella will share his story about how and why he pursues photographing the natural world. He will share tips on how he captures those magical moments, and then lead attendees through his gallery show to talk about capturing mood and conveying a story with the image.

This program is free and open to the public. For more information, call 594-0600, ext. 5. The Visitor Center’s art gallery is open weekdays from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and also will be open during the First Friday Art Walk, 5 to 8 p.m. Oct. 7.
