Maine Craft Weekend, a statewide tour of Maine craft studios, breweries, businesses and events, is set for Saturday and Sunday, Oct. 1 and 2. In conjunction with Maine Craft Weekend, the Blue Yonder Coastal Artisans gift shop at the Knox County Regional Airport, 23 Terminal Lane, will have an open house Saturday, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Artisans working on their craft on site; and there will be two book signings. Ed Coffin will be signing “The Coastal Town of Owls Head, Maine,” which is a reprint of this history book, in the morning; and Jan Gilley will sign “Light on Jib Island” in the afternoon. The open house also will include door prizes and savory treats, in addition to more than 16 local crafters' displays in the shop.

Maine Craft Weekend is an opportunity for the public to explore the life and work of craft artists and craft brewers in Maine — a public, educational, community oriented, family-friendly weekend scheduled in conjunction with American Craft Week, a nationwide event promoting craft events each October.
