This year has found sculptor Jay Sawyer very focused with efforts to complete his fresh series of works inspired by the English alphabet, as well as curating his first solo show. Titled “Sculpture Soup,” it is on view through Nov. 3 at the University of Maine at Farmington’s Emery Community Arts Center.

Closer to home, Sawyer's studio JBONE is resuming its routine schedule of open studios Sundays and Mondays through October.   Visitors will not only enjoy the mystical environment dotted with rustic sculpture, but also have a chance to see several new abstract works by Sawyer, aka JBONE.

The entrance for the public is at 131 Camden Road/Route 90. The open studios run from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day. For more information, call 273-3948 or visit studiojbone.com.
