Nine different schools were represented at the Medomak Valley High School cross-country invitational meet Friday, Sept. 16, the official kickoff to the school’s homecoming festivities.

Teams from Lincoln Academy of Newcastle, Erskine Academy of South China, Waterville, Cony of Augusta, Lawrence of Fairfield, North Haven, Islesboro and Oceanside of Rockland/Thomaston — along with host Medomak Valley — participated in the meet, which saw the Waterville girls and Erskine Academy boys net team wins.

Waeterville’s Nicholas Dall was the top male finisher with a time of 16 minutes, 39 seconds; while classmate Cecilia Morin was first amongst the girls with a time of 20 minutes, 51 seconds.

Islesboro’s Acadia Calderwood was the top local female finisher at 16th (23:54.07) and Medomak Valley’s Isaiah Potter the top local male finisher 18th (19:25.17).

Girls team scores were Waterville 46, Lincoln Academy 49, Cony 56, Erskine Academy 77, Lawrence 120, Medomak, Oceanside and Islesboro no score.

Boys team scores were Lincoln Academy 34, Erskine Academy 69, Waterville 70, Cony 72, Medomak Valley 131, Oceanside 161 and North Haven no score.

Individual girls results were: 16, Acadia Calderwood, Isle, 23:54.07; 21, Nicole Demmons, Med, 24:40.37; and 24, Brianna White-Ortiz, Ocean, 25:27.71.
