Traffic has begun to flow on the new Wadsworth Street Bridge in Thomaston. Although two-lane traffic has yet to start, progress is being made to pave the south side roadway. Demolition of the old bridge will take place later this year or as late as 2017, depending on the ability to work in the stream, according to Maine Department of Transportation. Thomaston Board of Selectmen is currently working to schedule an official opening ceremony, tentatively for the week in October.
