The weekly Monday night blues series continues Sept. 26 with Victor Wainwright Band and the Wildroots at the downtown Time Out Pub, 275 Main St. The show starts at 7 p.m., and admission is $15 at the door.

Victor “The Piana From Savannah” Wainwright rocked the club in August and is back with his powerhouse unit of hot, young talent to pay homage to the early greats and move forward via progressive roots music. Wainright, a two-time winner/four-time nominee Pinetop Perkins Piano Player of the Year, also was up for B.B. King Entertainer and Band of the Year this spring. Expect the composer, multi-instrumentalist and vocalist and the Wildroots to put out some big-time boogie-woogie blues.

Upcoming in the weekly series are: Oct. 3, Gene Taylor Band ($15); Oct. 10, double show with 24th Street Wailers and Jason Ricci bands ($20, starts 6 p.m.); Oct. 17, double show with Anthony Gomes Band and Joanna Connor Band ($15, starts 6 p.m. — note this follows a special Sunday, Oct. 16, show by Gomes, also $15/6 p.m.); Oct. 24, Regina Bonelli Band ($10); and another Halloween Party with Harper Oct. 31 ($15).
