The public is invited to sign up for a behind-the-scenes tour of Fisher Snowplows, a local company started in 1948 that is now one of several brands owned by Douglas Dynamics, LLC. This private tour will be offered Oct. 6 at 4 p.m.

Fisher is the largest employer in Rockland, with almost 400 employees. In addition to its dedicated workforce, its world-class Lean manufacturing processes are supported by laser steel-plate profiling equipment, robotic welders, computerized metal forming equipment and industry-leading coating quality.

Before the tour, there will be a presentation and light refreshments will be served. For safety, those attending should wear sleeved shirts, long pants and closed-toe shoes. The tour starts promptly at 4 p.m.

A limited number of tickets for this tour are available now for $35 for Land Trust members and $45 for nonmembers. This event is part of the Georges River Land Trust’s Revelry for the River event series, a year-long celebration of the Georges River Watershed. For tickets, visit georgesriver.org/revelry or call 594-5166. All proceeds benefit the conservation programs of the land trust.
