The Midcoast-bred members of Toughcats have been pursuing a variety of different personal projects this year and therefore have not been playing out as much as they have in the past. This month is an exception, however.

Toughcats are opening for Old Crow Medicine Show, one of the most influential Americana bands of these times, Wednesday, Sept. 21, at The Playhouse at Rodney Square in Wilmington, Del; and Friday, Sept. 23, at the Community Arts Center in Williamsport, Pa.

The following night — Saturday, Sept. 24 — the trio will be back in Maine to play what may be their only Midcoast show this year. Toughcats will start playing around 8 p.m. at Three Tides, 26 Marshall Wharf, one of the first places on the mainland the Fox Islands-born band played when it started out more than a decade ago.
