Finn Melanson from the League of Women Voters of Maine Education Fund will be at Adas Yoshuron Synagogue, 50 Willow St., Wednesday, Sept. 28, at 6:30 p.m. for a free educational presentation on ranked choice voting. The event is open to the public.

Nov. 8 Maine voters will head to the polls to weigh in on a number of referendum questions, including Question 5, which will ask voters whether to replace the current voting system with ranked choice voting for federal and state primary and general elections beginning in 2018.

The presentation will explain how ranked choice voting works, how voters use the ballots, how it compares to our current system, where it is currently used across the state, country and world, and how voters have responded to its implementation.

Participants are encouraged to join in the question-and-answer session following the presentation. For more information, contact Melanson, finn@lwvme.org, or call 420-0469 or contact the synagogue, info@adasyoshuron.org; 594-4523.
