The Old School, 20 Gay St., will host a radio interview and dinner-to-follow Wednesday, Sept. 28.

From 5 to 6 p.m., the “Rockland Metro” show on WRFR-LP, 93.3 FM, will interview Susan Bakaley and Chris Marshall of the Thirteenth Moon Center in Montville about shamanism. Immediately following the interview, the Old School will host a dinner symposium to continue the discussion.

Shamanism is the ancient practice of altering consciousness through drumming to work with spirits for healing and knowledge. Bakaley and Marshall apply these techniques in their healing practice and through classes at their center

Each week, WRFR’s “Rockland Metro” show invites a guest to discuss life in Rockland. Guests often participate afterwards in an Old School dinner symposium.

Dinner symposia at the Old School are free and open to the public. Participation in each symposium is limited to 12, so participants must reserve their place in advance. Participants are asked to help by bringing food, helping prepare the event and/or cleaning up afterwards.
