In “Fine Print,” Maine artists responded to a call for art showing how their work is inspired by or integrates typography, script or text. The result — 61 works by 44 artists, selected from 131 works submitted by 50 artists — is on view through Oct. 22 at the Harlow Gallery. 160 Water St.

“Fine Print” celebrates the range of ways in which artists are incorporating text into their art, from abstract methods to more traditional techniques. Midcoast artists with work in the show include Abbie Read of Appleton, Petrea Noyes of Lincolnville, Karen MacDonald of Stockton Springs, Cynthia Motian McGuirl of Thomaston and Barbra Whitten of West Rockport.
