Trekkers’ 6th annual auction will take place Saturday, Oct. 22, at the Owls Head Transportation Museum. The auction preview will run from 6 to 7 p.m. The silent auction starts at 6. The live auction bidding, with auctioneer Bruce Gamage, begins at 7. Hundreds of items will be up for bid, from gift certificates to local stores to unique travel experiences. There is a $10 admission at the door.

The lead sponsor for the event is Fisher Engineering, which has donated a new standard in FISHER V-plow performance, the Stainless Steel XV2 V-plow, valued at $8,500. Plowing width is 7 feet, 8 inches at full V; blade width is 8 feet, 6 inches SS or PC. The winning bid for the plow includes the cost of the mounts, controller and harness kit; cost of installation is not included.

In addition to the Fisher V-plow, guests will be able to bid for adventure and bid for fun, as the auction will include several unique items: a South African photo safari; a ride in a 1933 Waco biplane; a Kennedy Space Center astronaut adventure; Canadian Fairmont getaway; ultimate "Hamilton" Broadway experience; Samuel Adams tour in Boston; James Beard House dinner party in New York City; Tuscany truffle hunt and a Cancun paradise vacation. Gift certificates for getaways, services, jewelry, outdoor items, restaurants, and other items will get bidders' holiday shopping off to a great start. The silent auction will feature a wide variety of offerings, from restaurant certificates to design, landscape, gift baskets and memberships at local organizations.

Absentee bids will be available on nine items (absentee bid form is posted online): Fisher XV2 V-plow; South African photo safari; Tuscany truffle hunt; Canadian Fairmont getaway; ultimate "Hamilton" Broadway experience; Kennedy Space Center astronaut adventure; Cancun paradise vacation; and the Samuel Adams tour in Boston.
