The Maine Department of Transportation will be paving the entire length of Union and Pascal Avenue and Union Street Sept. 8. This will likely cause some traffic slowdowns and inconvenience as these are very busy roads.

Left lane paving will start in Camden at the intersection of Elm and Union streets and continue to the intersection of Pascal and Route 1 in Rockport, according to a notice issued by Police Chief Randy Gagne.

There will be no parking along Union or Pascal in Camden or Rockport until after the lane and shoulder are paved and equipment is no longer in the area.

Mill Street, which has been closed most of the summer for bridge replacement, is now re-opened. There may be some minor roadblocks, while the final work is being completed, but traffic will be able to pass over the bridge for the first time in over a month, Town Manager Rick Bates said.
