The Gibbs Library, 40 Old Union Road, is exhibiting mixed-media work of local artist Lois Hill through Nov. 1. The public is invited to a reception Friday, Sept. 16, from 5 to 7 p.m.

This is a show about fall, a mix of old and new works; styles; and media (pastel, colored pencil and prints).

“September and October are such golden, gorgeous months. There is glory and harvest, new directions, winds of change and goodbyes,” said Hill. “I see [the show] as a swirl of visual poems reflecting the feel of autumn.”

Library hours are Sundays from 2 to 5 p.m.; Mondays from 4 to 7 p.m.; Tuesdays from 9 a.m. to noon and 4 to 7 p.m.; Thursdays from 3 to 6 p.m.; and Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
