A new line of luxury textiles designed and produced by local artist Gigi Aea will be on display Thursday through Thursday, Sept. 15 through 22, at Leslie Curtis Designs, 10 Bay View St.

The bold new line of fabrics are printed in Lake Como, Italy, on custom Italian silks, linens and wools; and are intended for use in both interior design and fashion. The designs are based on Aea’s stunning oversized silk paintings, which have been exhibited locally at Old Salt’s Gallery in Camden, PicassoWhat! in Rockland and, privately, at the Messler Gallery in Rockport.

As his paintings measure 60-by-60 inches square, so follow his textiles, with the repeat in the design coming every five feet, resulting in luxurious fabrics with a dramatic narrative.

“The dynamic and colorful artistry of Gigi's paintings and textiles capture the passion of art today," said owner Leslie Curtis.

Leslie Curtis Designs is open Mondays through Saturdays from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. For more information, call Curtis at 236-2000 or email the artist at gigi@gigiaea.com.
