Beech Hill hasn’t always been blueberry fields and woodlands. Naturalist Gary Gulezian and arborist Doug Johnson will lead a walk showing how clues in today’s forests reveal features and uses of the land in the past.

Join this Coastal Mountains Nature Program outing on Saturday, Sept. 10, from 10 a.m. to noon at the Beech Hill Preserve in Rockport. For those interested in background reading, "Reading the Forested Landscape," by Tom Wessels, is an excellent resource.

Meet at the Preserve’s Woods Loop Trailhead at the Rockville Street parking lot. Directions: from Route 1, Rockport, heading south, take the first right immediately after ‘Fresh Off the Farm’ onto Rockville Street. The parking lot is about .7 mile on the right-hand side of the road. GPS Coordinates: 44.161641, -69.094527
