Waldoboro officers responded to 161 calls for service form Aug. 22 to Aug. 30. Below are a few of the highlights.

Aug. 23

Officer John Lash arrested Joel Balfour, 28, of Waldoboro, for violation of conditional release and a warrant.

Officer Larry Hesseltine investigated a report about the theft of a truck.

Hesseltine investigated a report from a resident that her children are being harassed.

Officer William Bragg summonsed Teddy Palino, 43, of Waldoboro, for harvesting clams without a town license.

Hesseltine summonsed Tiffany Tomah, 29, of Rockland, for operating after suspension and violation of conditional release.

Hesseltine summonsed Sarah Teele, 34, of Bremen, for permitting unauthorized use and violation of conditional release.

Aug. 24

Officer Thomas Bartunek arrested Gardner Dyer, 26, of Waldoboro, for aggravated assault.

Hesseltine investigated an accident on Washington Road at 7:15 a.m. Anthony Cartlidge, 46, of Whitefield, was driving a 2014 Toyota pickup truck southbound following the roadway when a deer ran out into his path, causing damage to his vehicle. No injuries were reported.

Officer John Lash arrested Gwendolyn Wellman, 29, of Waldoboro, for operating under the influence and operating a motor vehicle without a license.

Aug. 25

Hesseltine investigated a report that someone broke into a residence and took some tools.

Officer Chris Spear arrested Corey Main, 41, of Waldoboro, on a warrant.

Aug. 27

Hesseltine arrested Timothy Benner, 48, of Waldoboro, for failure to register motor vehicle and eluding an officer.

Spear summonsed Bradford Davis, 40, of Waldoboro, for uninspected motor vehicle.

Lash summonsed Scott Landry, 38, of Warren, for operating after suspension.

Aug. 28

Lash investigated an accident on Old Augusta Road, at 3:11 a.m. Rayan Reid, 29, of Warren, was driving a 2005 Nissan, sedan. eastbound, and ran off the roadway causing damage to the Nissan. No injuries were reported.

Aug. 29

Officer Jeffery Fuller investigated an accident on the Finntown Road at 6:47 a.m. Ruth Spear, 19, of Cushing, was driving a 2002 Ford sedan south on Finntown Road, rolled over the edge of the pavement, over-corrected and came back onto the roadway, lost control, came sideways on the roadway, then went off the road into the ditch, where the Ford rolled over onto its roof and coming to rest in the ditch on its roof. No injuries were reported.

An arrest or summons does not constitute a finding of guilt. An individual charged with a crime is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty at some later criminal proceeding.
