The annual Camden Windjammer Festival, a celebration of maritime heritage and living traditions, kicks off Friday, Sept. 2 and runs through Sunday, Sept. 4.

On Friday, the windjammers will arrive in Camden Harbor, a talent show will entertain at the public landing, and fireworks will fly over the harbor at dusk.

Saturday's fun includes a crate race, dog show, children's activities and demonstrations and Sunday includes a build-a-boat race and pirate skirmish.

Due to the festival being held at the Public Landing, all vehicle parking at the Public Landing will be suspended beginning at midnight Sept. 1 and will be in effect through Sept. 4. Camden Public Safety lots on Washington Street will be open for all day parking as well as the upper lot behind the Knox Mill. Unattended vehicles may be removed at the owner’s expense should the need arise. For questions, please call the Camden Police at 236-7953.
