The weekly Monday night blues series continues Sept. 12 with the Bruce Katz Band at the downtown Time Out Pub, 275 Main St. The show starts at 7 p.m., and admission is $10 at the door.

Award-winning contemporary blues piano/organ player Bruce Katz supported John Hammond at this summer’s North Atlantic Blues Festival and returns as frontman to play the Monday night series. A member of the Gregg Allman Band from 2007 to 2013, Katz performs regularly with Hammond, the Delbert McClinton Band, Jaimoe's Jasssz Band and other roots and blues artists, as well as appearing on more than 70 albums.

The four-time Pinetop Perkins Piano Player of the Years taught at the Berklee College of Music for 14 years; still teaches piano, Hammond organ and theory privately; conducts master classes in Hammond B3 and blues history worldwide; and is an instructor at the Roots Rock Revival Camp.
