Home energy specialist Kathleen Meil will lead a presentation on how to prepare the Maine home for winter at Merryspring Nature Center on Tuesday, Sept. 6, at noon.

The winter of 2016 offered a reprieve from the usual bitter cold and heavy snows, but another winter is on its way; and fall is the best time to start preparing. Join Meil for a conversation about preparing the home to be comfortable and energy-efficient all winter by focusing on the entire home-heating system. Guests will learn about the importance of annual heating system tune ups, targeted air-sealing and insulation, and how practical, simple efforts can add up to save money and energy.

Meil is the Marketing & Customer Relations Manager for Evergreen Home Performance, a local company that uses understandings of building science, energy efficiency financing, and energy policy to provide homeowners with practical solutions to improving the comfort and efficiency of Maine homes.

This lecture is part of the Summer Talk series at Merryspring, sponsored by The First. Admission to Tuesday talks is $5, with free admission for members of Merryspring.
