Two “Local Girls” born and raised on the St. George peninsula will exhibit their art the first five days of September at Granite Gallery, 48 Main St./Route 131. The public is invited to a reception Saturday, Sept. 3, from 5 to 8 p.m.

Both artists attended the former Grace Institute for shop and home economics as children. The historic building now houses Granite Gallery, and both are excited to show in the space.

Lily Hyde is showing photography of local produce and environmental portraits. Hyde studied photography at Lesley University in Cambridge, Mass. Courtney Farnum will show her drawings, as well as mixed media. Farnum has been exploring her creativity and working on this series for several years.

The “Local Girls” show will run Thursday through Monday, Sept. 1 through 5. Granite Gallery hours are 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
