Waldoboro police officers responded to 134 calls for service between Aug. 16 and Aug. 22. Below are a few of the highlights.

Aug. 16

Officer Larry Hesseltine investigated a complaint of trespassers on private property.

Officer Thomas Bartunek arrested Daniel Benner, 34, of Damariscotta, on a warrant.

Bartunek arrested Harold Martin, 51, of Waldoboro, on a warrant.

Bartunek arrested Michelle Leonard, 49, of Waldoboro, on a warrant.

Officer John Lash investigated an accident on Old Augusta Road at 10:44 p.m. Garrett Bourque, 49, of Jefferson, was driving west in a 1992 Volvo sedan when he went off the road, striking a tree. Minor injuries were reported.

Aug. 17

Bartunek investigated a report that someone did criminal mischief to a motor vehicle.

Officer William Bragg summoned Todd Dodge, 43, of Waldoboro, for harvesting clams without a town license.

Bragg summoned Shawn Day, 22, of Waldoboro, for harvesting clams without a town license.

Aug. 18

Bartunek investigated an accident on Friendship Road at 12:27 a.m. Samantha Spear, 24, of Nobleboro, was driving north in a 2010 Ford sedan when she struck a tree limb that had fallen into the road. No injuries were reported.

Hesseltine investigated an accident on Atlantic Highway at 9:30 a.m. Kimberly Maxcy, 51, of Bristol, was traveling east on a 2008 Harley-Davidson motorcycle when she attempted to pass the vehicle in front of her, which was signaling to turn left into a place of business. Maxcy swerved to the right and attempted to go around the vehicle on the right side, but hit the dirt shoulder, lost control of the motorcycle and came to rest approximately 200 feet up the road. Injury codes listed.

An arrest or summons does not constitute a finding of guilt. An individual charged with a crime is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty at criminal proceedings.
