Those who work on the water and the greater community they live in are invited to be part of the seventh presentation of Working on the Water, a gathering of fishermen and mariners. Organized by Gordon Bok, this year’s event will be held Saturday, Nov. 12, at 1 p.m. at the Sail, Power & Steam Museum at Sharp's Point South, 75 Mechanic St.

Men and women who work or have worked on the water will share their experiences through original songs, stories and poetry. Patterned after the highly successful FisherPoets Gathering in Oregon, this event has been so well received it has spawned a similar event in Portland, hosted by the Maine Maritime Museum.

Admission to Working on the Water will be $5, free for children younger than 12. For more information, visit gordonbok.com/special.html.
