Once again the West Bay Rotary Club is once again sponsoring its annual Chowder Challenge during the 2016 Camden Windjammer Festival. Everyone is invited to come by to sample the chowder and enjoy the atmosphere of the festival.

The Challenge will be held at the Camden Town Landing on Saturday, Sept. 3, from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Admission donation is $9 for adults and $5 for children.

The club urges the public to come hungry as it anticipates having 10 different chowder, so people will receive nearly a quart of chowder. Chowder will be accompanied by oyster crackers and a drink. As this is an election year and we are a democracy, YOU get to vote for your favorite chowder and determine 2016 bragging rights for the winning entry!

As of press time, Challenging for 2016 Best Chowder honors will be: The Samoset Resort, Graffam’s Seafood Market, Marriners Restaurant, Camden Hills Regional High School’s ‘Wave Cafeteria’, The Pearl, Pen Bay Medical Center and The Waterfront Restaurant.

Proceeds from the Chowder Challenge will be used by the West Bay Rotary Club to support their local civic charitable and non-profit activities as well as the continuance of the Windjammer Festival.
