Pen Bay Medical Center offers the followiing upcoming programs:

Learn cooking basics

Rockland Congregational Church, 180 Limerock St., hosts a two-session cooking basics class Sept. 7 and 14 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Gain knife skills, explore wholesome grains and learn to make focaccia bread, simple salads, dressings, soups and more. Registration fee is $15.

Learn to kayak in Camden harbor

Maine Sport Outfitters teaches kayaking starting at its kiosk on Camden harbor Sept. 7 and 21 from 4 to 6 p.m. Class will take a leisurely tour of the harbor with Registered Maine Guides. Weather permitting. Basic paddling and safety instructions will be provided.

Children ages 10 and older are welcome, but must be accompanied by an adult. Registration fee is $20/person and includes kayaks and gear.

The mood-lifting power of dance

Teacher Kate Tranzillo will lead a four-session dance program designed specifically for people with movement difficulties at St. Thomas Episcopal Church, 33 Chestnut St., Camden, Thursdays, Sept. 8, 15, 22 and 29, from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m.

Registration fee is $25; participants are encouraged to bring a friend, family member or caregiver to join them for free.
