Claudia Schmidt returns to the Camden Library Coffeehouse to open the series’ fall season Thursday, Sept. 1, at 7 p.m. Admission is $12; tickets are available at the library; or make reservations at 236-3440 or info@librarycamden.org.

Schmidt is an acclaimed singer with 19 albums of mostly original songs exploring folk, blues, and jazz idioms. She accompanies herself with 12-string guitar and mountain dulcimer in performances she calls a quirky and wonderful hodge-podge of music, poetry, story, laughter, drama and celebrating the moment. Schmidt always includes her original work along with very personal versions of the work of others, offering a glimpse of the world from someone who says what she sees with clarity, humor and wonder.
