The inaugural Lincolnville Pickles, Preserves and Pies, a joyous harvest festival, will be held Saturday, Oct. 1, at various locations throughout the town.

The festival will benefit Lincolnville scholarship funds, Lincolnville Business Group, Lincolnville Improvement Association, Lincolnville Women's Club, King David's Masonic Lodge and Tranquility Grange.

Locations and activities:

Dawn — Grape Harvest at Cellardoor Winery. Local and tourist volunteers help harvest the grape crop.

All day — Apple Harvest and Cider-making at Sewell Orchard

9 to 11 a.m. — How to Preserve Class by Maine Extension Service. Cellardoor Winery

10 a.m. to noon —  Lincolnville Women’s Club Pickle Sale, Pickle Judging and "Best Pickles" Awards. Lincolnville Beach at McLaughlin's Seafood Shack. Register for $10 and bring your own card table and jarred pickles, tastes and sale of pickled items (cucumbers, zucchini, corn, tomatoes, beets, relish, salsa). Enter to win.

11 a.m. to 1 p.m. — Lunch. Bowl of Soup or Chowder or Sandwich – available at Dots, Green Tree Coffee Roasters, Red Barn Bakery, McLaughlin's Seafood Shack, Lobster Pound, Chez Michel, and Whalestooth Pub.

1 to 3 p.m. Lincolnville Improvement Association Preserves Sale and Judging for "Best Jellies, Jams, Chutneys, Preserves." Lincolnville Beach at LIA Bldg. Register for $10 and bring jarred jams, tastes, and sale of items (strawberry, rhubarb, blueberry, etc.). Enter to win.

2 to 4 p.m. — How to make pickles class. Cellardoor Winery by Maine Extension Service.

4 p.m. —  Pie Sale and Pie eating contest. King David’s Masonic Lodge Hall on Howe Point Road, Ducktrap. Register for $10 and bring your pies to sell and taste. Enter to participate in pie-eating contest.

5 p.m. — Crowning of the Pickle Queen/King, Preserve Queen/King, and Pie Queen/King – Tranquility Grange Hall – Lincolnville Center (LWC, LIA, LBG, Masons)

5 p.m. — Tranquility Grange Hall Fall Supper
