The First Tee of Maine at Rockland Golf Club celebrates the completion of its initial year with a fundraising event at Flatbread Pizza, 399 Commercial St., Rockport, Tuesday, Aug. 23, at 5 p.m. Forty-eight students from Knox, Lincoln, and Waldo counties learned the basics of golf, as well as The First Tee organization’s Nine Core Values: honesty, integrity, sportsmanship, respect, confidence, responsibility, perseverance, courtesy, judgment.

This is the first fundraiser for the 2017 season, which may begin with a seven-week session at Pitch in Warren this winter. A portion of each pizza purchase will go directly to the local chapter of The First Tee at Rockland Golf Club. A raffle, silent auction and youth golf games will be offered throughout the evening.
