Acclaimed contemporary realist Gary Akers, whose annual exhibition "Allure of the Sea" runs through Sept. 10 at the Green Schoolhouse on Route 131 in South Thomaston, will be showing a selected collection of his giclée and limited edition prints at other locations this month.

Akers will be present for an art walk opening Friday, Aug. 19, from 4 to 7 p.m. at Newcastle Realty, 87 Main St./Business Route 1 in Damariscotta. The show will continue through Aug. 31.

On Sunday afternoon, Aug. 21, Akers will be on hand for the opening of his print show at the Saint George River Café, 310 Main St. in Warren village. There will be live music during the 4 to 6 p.m. event; the exhibit will run through Sept. 15.

Both exhibits are free and open to the public; Akers will be available to sign his books and prints during the openings. Akers is recognized for his expertise in watercolor, drybrush and egg tempera. For more information, call (859) 250-0278 or visit
