Washington Lakes Watershed Association will lead an aquatic plant paddle on Crystal Pond Sunday, Aug. 21, at 8 a.m.. Association member and local Maine Guide Rob Stenger will lead a paddle along the shoreline, focusing on native flora identification. Underwater viewing scopes will be available for closer inspection of submerged plants. The paddle will end back at the public park near the boat launch for identification of samples gathered and a snack.

This event is free, but donations towards lake monitoring costs will be gladly accepted, and participants should bring their own boats and gear, although spaces in boats and extra gear are available for those without upon request. Participants should meet at the Crystal Pond public boat launch off Crystal Pond Road and should expect to be on the water for up to two hours.
