Summer youth sailing at the Apprenticeshop, 655 Main St., continues through August with week-long sailing sessions for young people ages 6 to 18 of all skill levels. Students learn the basics and advanced techniques, rigging and sailing, safety, tides, weather, knots, racing, and seamanship skills.

Participants develop self-confidence, teamwork, and good sportsmanship while forming connections to the maritime environment that last a lifetime. Youth instructors are US SAILING certified with a passion for teaching and sharing the joy of sailing with others.

Each class curriculum is designed to progress to the next class, ensuring that all sailors are engaged in meaningful learning at their skill level. Space is available through Aug. 26. Scholarships available.
