The Owls Head Transportation Museum will hold a preview week Monday, Aug. 15, through Friday, Aug. 19, in advance of the 39th Annual New England Auto Auction Aug. 19 and 20. Visitors can shope for their dream car or just enjoy the diverse automobiles, automobilia, and collectibles on display prior to the sale.

From brass-era beauties to vintage pickups, sports cars, classics, muscle cars, motorcycles and more, the Owls Head Transportation Museum’s New England Auto Auction is one of New England’s premiere automotive events. In 2016 the auto auction has been extended, and will include the museum’s inaugural automobilia auction on the Friday at 2 p.m.

The automobile auction will begin Saturday, Aug. 20, at 9:30 a.m., sharp. Bidder registration for the automobilia sale is included with the $20 cost of preview week admission. Bidders registered for the auto auction on Saturday may bid in both sales. Saturday registration is $85. Bidder registration is available on site at the museum and by phone. Absentee and phone bidding are also available.

The 39th annual New England Auto Auction will be conducted inside the museum’s main gallery.. A beer garden (serving beer and wine) and concessions will be available during both the Friday afternoon and Saturday auctions.

Spectator admission is $20 each day of the preview and on auction day. Youth under 18, as well as retired and active-duty military with a Uniformed Services ID, are admitted free every day. For more information about the New England Auto Auction, visit owlshead.org or call Toby Stinson at 594-4418.
