Camden-Rockport Historical Society will hold its annual membership meeting Wednesday, Aug. 17, starting at 7 p.m. at the Mary Meeker Cramer Museum on the grounds of the Historic Conway House complex, located just south of the Hannaford store at the Camden-Rockport town line.

The meeting will begin with a presentation by C-RHS trustee Raylene Hunt, who also is a member of the Homeschoolers of Maine's Leadership Team, and a homeschooling mom of 15 years who teaches classes in natural history and Maine Studies for homeschoolers. Hunt is an accomplished local historian and genealogy researcher.

She will speak about the local landmark often referred to as the "Camden Castle" and will explore the myths, the man, and the castle "Norumbega" from its construction in 1886. She will also discuss the Norumbega artifacts in the society's collection, along with the genealogy of the Stearns family that includes members of the historical society.

The presentation will be followed by a business meeting that will include the annual election of officers. Refreshments will be served after the meeting and attendees will have an opportunity to view current museum displays.

The presentation and meeting are open to all members of C-RHS and the general public.
