Manny’s and Karyl’s is bringing saxophonist Greg Abate, with Paul Del Nero on bass and Jon Wheatley on guitar, to the Camden Opera House Friday night, Aug. 19, for a 7 p.m. concert that also features local jazzmeisters the Wayne Delano Group and Tom Luther.

The following day, there will be master classes held from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on the third floor of the downtown opera house. Abate, Del Nero and Wheatley will discuss jazz ensemble playing and their respective instruments; and Luther will hold a group focused on composition.

Reservations for this rare opportunity to talk and work with national and international touring jazz musicians about their craft are required, as space is limited. Cost is $35; reserve by contacting Matt Brown at 701-9974 or bmattguitar@gmail.com.

Tickets for the Jazz on a Summer’s Eve concert are $18 in advance, available at the Camden Town Office; Manny’s and Karyl’s; and online at camdenoperahouse.com. They will be $22 at the door, which will open 6:30 p.m.
