The Farnsworth Art Museum invites the public to a poetry reading in its auditorium Friday, Aug. 12, from 1 to 2:30 p.m. The event is in conjunction with the museum’s Between the Lines poetry-writing workshop and is free and open to the public.

Poetry students participating in the annual, weeklong workshop will read their work. Poets featured in this reading include Lois Anne, Carol Bachofner, Sylvia de Leon, Ellen Goldsmith, Eileen Hugo, Judy Kaber, Claire Millikin, Catherine Neuhardt-Minor, Mark Raymond, Katie Wilson and others. Orono poet Kathleen Ellis, who has been teaching the Farnsworth's summer poetry workshops for more than 20 years, hosts.

The event is free and open to the public; however, Farnsworth museum admission is not included.
