Friday evening gospel concerts and Sunday evening services have taken place in the tent at the top of the hill, across Route 1 from Ralph’s Homes, since Heaven’s Blend opened the series in June. On Friday, Aug. 12, the group returns for another gospel conce4tr beginning 7 p.m.

This popular Maine group has five members. Vocalist and keyboard player Tom Rawley has been senior pastor of the Waldoboro Word of Life Church for almost 30 years; some may remember him from his days with The Country Wranglers or Hosanna. Gary Leet, a former rock drummer, is the senior pastor of the Lisbon Free Baptist Church, as well as the founder of Life-Changing Faith Bible Center and he adds vocals and drums. Marcel Ward of Rockland is a talented harmonica player and part of the worship team at the Waldoboro Word of Life Church. Craig Tuck is the Youth Pastor at the West Harpswell Baptist Church and plays bass guitar. Vocalist Tim Connelly is a worship leader at the Waldoboro Word of Life Church who also performs at local churches as “Just Tim.”

This is the fifth summer that Waldoboro Word of Life Church has offered a Summer of Praise Under The Tent, and a big “thank you” goes to Bob Weintraub and his daughter Erin of Cloud Hollow Farm. They lease space at the “top of the hill” and call it Maine Top Mill, having installed some textile processing machines in order to bring a little more uniformity to the fiber industry and to help other farmers keep their herds of alpaca and sheep sustainable. For the fifth summer, Bob has graciously allowed the Waldoboro Word of Life Church to set up the tent and use the property.

As they are under a tent, all events are held, rain or shine. All are welcome to stop by for as long as they are able to stay; bring your own lawn chair (or a cushion) if folding metal chairs are too uncomfortable. The tent now has screens, which has reduced the bug attendance. A goodwill offering will be taken to help cover traveling and other expenses. For more information, call 446-3288.
