Waterman's Community Center will present a one-night-only staged reading of Karen Zacarias' black comedy “The Book Club Play” Friday, Aug. 5, at 7:30 p.m.

The reading, directed by Cait Robinson, features local actors Courtney Naliboff, Eva Hopkins, Trey Warren, Jacob Greenlaw, Mary White and Ryan Thompson; and Portland actor Sarabeth Connelly.

Tickets are $15, available online at watermans.org or at the door. This production is generously funded by the Virginia B. Toulmin foundation, which supports theatrical works by living female playwrights. Waterman's Community Center is a 501(c)3 nonprofit arts organization that serves North Haven, an island in the Penobscot Bay.
